Teresa's 30th Birthday Benefit was held September 16!
Our event honoree, Teresa Walsh, died from SUDEP (sudden unexplained death in epilepsy) on November 23, 2010, 5 years after being diagnosed with epilepsy. During the 5 years Teresa was living with epilepsy she dealt with dozens of seizures, countless doctors appointments and several different medications, none of which stopped her seizures and barely controlled them. Teresa was determined to not let her epilepsy define her and she lived her life as she wished, which is not possible for many who suffer from this debilitating condition. She had just graduated from college and was getting ready to start a masters program to become a teacher at the time of her death. Through this annual event we celebrate her life and her birthday and acknowledge all of the great work that is being done by CURE to bring an end to seizures for good.
During the time since Teresa's passing great strides have been made in the quest for a cure, but there is more work to be done. Your support of this event and of CURE helps to bring us closer to a day when the millions of people currently suffering from epilepsy will be seizure free.
Thank you to everyone who participated in our 6th Annual Benefit for Teresa's Birthday. With your generosity we raised over $8,000 for CURE!
