Donate to CURE in Teresa's memory to commemorate her 32nd birthday!

Please join us in making a donation to CURE in honor of Teresa’s 32nd Birthday on September 15.
Teresa Walsh died from SUDEP (sudden unexplained death in epilepsy) on November 23, 2010, 5 years after being diagnosed with epilepsy. During the 5 years Teresa was living with epilepsy she dealt with dozens of seizures, countless doctors appointments and several different medications, none of which stopped her seizures and barely controlled them. Teresa was determined to not let her epilepsy define her and she lived her life as she wished, which is not possible for many who suffer from this debilitating condition. She had just graduated from college and was getting ready to start a masters program to become a teacher at the time of her death.
Through this annual fundraiser we celebrate her life and her birthday and support all of the groundbreaking work that is being done by CURE to bring an end to seizures for good. Your support of CURE in memory of Teresa helps to bring us closer to a day when the millions of people currently suffering from epilepsy will be seizure free.
In the years since Teresa's death CURE has made great strides in their research and quest for a cure, but there is more work to be done. Your gift brings us closer to the day when millions of epilepsy patients can live a life free from seizures. 1 in 26 Americans will develop epilepsy in their lifetime, and though it affects more people than multiple sclerosis, cerebral palsy, muscular dystrophy and Parkinson's combined it is critically lacking in the funds and focus needed to advance treatment and one day, find a cure.
